Mind the Gap is a senior graphic design show featuring metro themed design and artwork. It’s a re-imagination of what Buffalo’s metro system could be. It expands and rebrands the NFTA Metro, creating something colorful and vibrant to reflect Buffalo’s many neighborhoods. It is thoughtful design that keeps the future in mind, creating a cohesive branding system not necessarily for the transit system we have, but the one we hope to develop. It explores the balance between function and visual identity, creating a train system that can be embraced by locals and visitors alike, and putting Buffalo on the map as a rising city with a bright future.
Mind the Gap speaks to the potential that Buffalo’s metro system holds, if we just take a step in the right direction.
Holly Norris is a Communication Design major at Buffalo State who utilizes a wide variety of mediums in both design and illustration to create work that is a subtle mix of handmade and digitally produced.
